Komodo Habitat Heat Mats are an excellent primary heat source for most applications requiring night time heating. They emit no visible light and are the most widely used heater for this purpose. They are excellent as the sole heat source for most species of snake and many invertebrates such as scorpions and tarantulas. If in doubt please seek expert advice regarding the animal’s specific requirements. One key factor to keeping a herptile happy and healthy is to understand and offer the range of temperatures that they prefer. This is called providing a thermal gradient.
Always place heat mats on the outside of glass vivaria. The heat will pass through the glass easily and so protect the mat from moisture.
